News: Geof wins first and second in Camera Thorpe

Club member Geof Caudwell did himself and Derby Movie Makers proud when he scooped both first and second place in this year’s Camera Thorpe music video competition.

‘Turning the turf’ and ‘The Blacksmith’ came first and second respectively in the competition that that is open to members of the clubs that comprise Midland Movie Makers (consisting of Derby Movie Makers, Nuneaton Moviemakers, Nottingham Movie Makers, Wave at Long Eaton, Chesterfield Film Makers and Leicester Movie Makers).

This year’s competition was ably hosted by Nuneaton Moviemakers, with judging being provided by members of Market Harborough Movie Makers.

Geof’s success completed a clean sweep for Derby Movie Makers, who earlier on in the evening had been awarded first place in the Tony Rose Competition with their film, “Sex, Lives and Videotape”.
