20th September 2007
Derby Movie Makers have completed filming their latest production, “Sex, Lives and Videotape”. The film follows the fortunes of fictional movie making club, LCA Movie Makers – a hapless bunch of amateur video buffs who have their own, unique take on filmmaking.
The film was made as an entry to the annual North vs. South competition, the theme of which for this year is "Faith, Hope and Charity". Open to all amateur moviemaking clubs, the competition for the John Wright trophy always attracts plenty of interest.
The trophy has been won by the North for the last 2 years.Derby Movie Makers fall within the southern region, and their entry will compete in the Southern Heat at Orpington Video and Film Makers on 18th November 2007.
Sex, Lives and Videotape will also be the club's entry for this year's Tony Rose competition, which always uses the same theme as the North vs. South competition.
